Patagonia is a land of everlasting snowcapped mountains, infinite ancient ice blue glaciers, emerald green lakes, diamond rivers, heavenly green forests, majestic cliffs and fjords. Its natural majesty makes it one of the most spectacular destinations on Earth and a “must-see” place in a lifetime.
To the south in Patagonia, soaring granite peaks reach skyward from the haunting emptiness of a pristine mountain landscape, whilst ancient glaciers slide slowly from the Andes into brilliant turquoise lakes.
Towards the hot and humid north-east, exuberant sub-tropical rain forest swathes the landscape, revealing crumbling ruins of early Jesuit missions half hidden by clinging creepers. As the landscape rises to the border with Brazil and Paraguay, the spectacular Iguazu Falls thunder more than seventy meters to the rock below.
In stark contrast to this lush profusion are the high Andean plains and salt lakes of the north-west. Otherworldly in their desolate magnificence, a day spent riding in the pure air of the mountains is an uplifting experience unlike any other.
