The Cartagena International Film Festival is the oldest cinema event in Latin America, dating back to 1960. Ever since then, the festival has shown and promoted the best works such as TV programs, films, and short videos from the minds and efforts of Colombia's most cinematically inspired. Categories include Fiction, Documentary, 100% Colombian, Short Film, and Newcomers.

There are also selections from other Ibero-American talents showcased in the festival.

Finally, those visitors looking for a deeper experience at the 54th annual Cartagena International Film Festival should head to Salon FICCI at the Centro de Formacion de la Cooperacion Espanola Cartagena de Indias center located at Carrera 36 2-74, Plaza Santo Domingo. Here there will be held informational panels, press conferences, workshops, classes, and other events.
