New Daily Flights Make Visiting Machu Picchu More Convenient Than Ever

One of our very favorite airlines in South America, LAN Airlines, has now opened up more routes between Peru's capital city of Lima (which is also home to the only international airport) and Cusco in the heart of the southern Andes from which most journeys to Machu Picchu begin. That means that for travelers, arriving at the ancient Inca citadel is now easier than ever!

That means that for travelers, arriving at the ancient Inca citadel is now easier than ever!

Starting April 1, 2014, LAN will become the only carrier that offers evening flight between Cusco and Lima, allowing you the day wherever you wish but getting you to a new land by dinnertime. These 2 new flights will depart daily from Lima at 5:50pm and arrive in Cusco 7:10pm, and the other option depart Cusco at 7:15pm arriving back in the capital at 8:40pm. Altogether, this means LAN will have an impressive 15 total daily flights between the 2 cities every day!

With these new connection, the opportunities are endless. For example, you could enjoy nearly a full day of experiences in Lima before going to Cusco in the evening, in time to enjoy the ex-capital of the Incas bathed in golden lights amid the Andean range. Or, maybe you want to fit in 1 more day of exploring ancient ruins and shopping for fine quality alpaca scarves before going back to Lima for a high-class dinner and connecting with your international flight. Of course, these are just 2 examples out of infinite possibilities.

And for those who live in the southern half of the USA, the news is even better. These flights make it easier than ever to connect from Los Angeles, Miami, and New York to the old Peruvian world!
