Tropical Marvels

Day 1: San José
Arrival San José, Costa Rica and transfer to your hotel, according to your preferences. Overnight San José.

Day 2: San José
Have a full day excursion rafting outside San José. Overnight San José.

Day 3: Tortuguero
Morning charter flight to Tortuguero, where you'll have a boat tour around the area, followed by an afternoon village tour. From June-October you can have turtle walks along the beaches, looking for nesting sea turtles. Overnight riverfront Tortuga Lodge.

Day 4: Tortuguero
Enjoy a morning boat or kayak tour through the national park's rivers. In the afternoon, with your guide, explore the trails around Tortuguero. If the season's right, do more evening turtle walks. Overnight Tortuguero.

Day 5: Arenal
Take a charter flight to Arenal, in the shadow of the active Arenal Volcano. Visit the hanging bridges, where you can see the jungle and volcano from a variety of vantage points. In the evening relax in the Doña Mireya Hot Springs. Overnight luxury Lost Iguana Resort.

Day 6: Arenal
Go on a day-long boat tour of the Peñas Blancas River, where you'll birds and river inhabitants. Also visit La Fortuna Waterfall. Overnight Arenal.

Day 7: Monteverde
Land and boat transfer to Monteverde Nature Reserve, where you'll visit the Ecological Farm and dine with expat Marvin Rockwell. Overnight Monteverde.

Day 8: Monteverde
Visit the Monteverde Nature Reserve, including the Butterfly Garden, Bat Jungle and evening stop at the Frog Pond. Overnight Monteverde.

Day 9: Manuel Antonio
Land transfer to Manuel Antonio. En route stop at waterfalls for a zipline canopy tour. Overnight Manuel Antonio.

Day 10: Manuel Antonio
Visit the Manuel Antonio National Park and have a private catamaran tour along the coast. Overnight Manuel Antonio.

Day 11: Manuel Antonio
Kayak through the estuary and to Damas Island, where you'll also have a mangrove tour. Overnight Manuel Antonio.

Day 12: Lapa Rios
Charter flight to Puerto Jiménez with a land transfer to Lapa Rios, where rainforest and coast come together. Afternoon horseback riding tour. Overnight Lapa Rios.

Day 13: Lapa Rios
Full day visit to the Corcovado National Park by either helicopter or charter flight. Overnight Lapa Rios.

Day 14: Lapa Rios
Half-day whale and dolphin watching tour in the Pacific. Afternoon at leisure to explore. Overnight Lapa Rios.

Day 15: San José / Home
Land transfer to Puerto Jiménez; charter flight to San José and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
