Quito, the capital, with its well preserved colonial centre, is now a UNESCO world heritage site. This charming capital has a spring-like climate and is surrounded by fairytale mountains. Quito, with numerous luxury hotels, is an excellent center to base your explorations to rest of the country.

Ecuador’s is made for accessibility. Only a few hours’ drive north lie many of the country’s famed Indian market towns, with native Ecuadorians wearing colourful traditional clothes and selling their wonderfully woven handicrafts.

If markets, snow capped volcanoes, mountains and lakes were not reason enough to visit the north, this area also has elegant colonial haciendas. Apart from offering guests a rare insight into rural life, trekking, horseback riding and bird watching in the majestic highlands are but a few of the pleasures of staying in these unique haciendas.
