Machu Picchu and Galapagos Journey
Day 1: Lima
Arrive in Lima and transfer to your hotel, either a boutique property with ocean views or the luxury Country Club Lima.
Day 2: Lima
Tour Lima's galleries and famous museums, followed by dinner at one of Lima’s top restaurants. Overnight Lima.
Day 3: Lima / Cuzco / Sacred Valley
Fly to Cuzco, and drive to the Sacred Valley with your guide, which is recommended to adjust to the altitude. Along the way visit Pisac village and ruins, and have a private weaving demonstration. Overnight at a villa or bungalows at a charming hotel.
Day 4: Lima / Cuzco / Sacred Valley
Visit the intriguing Maras & Moray (add on bicycling and a picnic lunch, if you're interested), and Chinchero village and ruins. Have a delicious lunch at Hacienda Huayo Ccari, which serves traditional cuisine in a hacienda wiht amazing views. Overnight Sacred Valley.
Day 5: Sacred Valley / Machu Pichu
Board the Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu. Once arrived, visit the citadel with your guide. Climb up Huayna Picchu. Overnight within the ruin complex or at a lovely hotel just outside the ruins.
Day 6: Machu Picchu / Cuzco
Early morning exploration of ruins with your private guide before the crowds arrive. Evening return to Cuzco on the Hirham Bingham train to Cuzco. Overnight Cuzco.
Day 7: Cuzco
Experience Cuzco with a difference! In the morning your guide will take you to the most important sites within the historic center, such as the Cathedral, Korikancha or Sun Temple. Lunch at Map Café, our favorite restaurant in Cuzco, set in the courtyard of the Pre-Columbian Art Museum. Then visit the ruins just outside the city. Overnight Cuzco.
Day 8: Cuzco / Lima / Quito
Morning at leisure. Fly from Cuzco to Quito, Ecuador via Lima. Arrive in Quito. Overnight luxury or boutique hotel.
Day 9: Quito
Morning walking tour of colonial quarter or a visit to the Inca monument marking the Equator and visit to Museo Intinan. The monument was built more than 500 years ago and has a more precise location of the Equatorial line then what the French Geodesic mission measured in the mid 1700’s. Colonial by night tour in horse-drawn carriages where you'll ride through the narrow streets of Old Quito. Enjoy dinner at a gourmet restaurant in colonial section. Overnight luxury or boutique hotel.
Day 10: Quito / Galapagos
Fly to the Galapagos Islands and board the M/V Explorer II (or boat of your selection)
Days 11-14: Galapagos
Live aboard the vessel (or yacht of your selection) and spend as much time exploring the islands as park rules permit. Each night we travel on to the next island.
Day 14: Galapagos / Quito
We have our last island visit in the morning then fly back to Quito for farewell dinner. Overnight luxury or boutique hote
Day 15: Quito / Home
Depart for home, or on to other adventures.
