Fazenda Sao Francisco do Corumbau

Salvador de Bahia, Brazil

Ideal for couples and families seeking a remote beachfront getaway, Fazenda Sao Francisco do Corumbau is a small, exclusive hotel on the south coast of Bahia, between the cities of Porto Seguro and Prado. Located on over 400 acres of land, the hotel has just 10 rooms in the form of deluxe suites, luxury bungalows or super luxury bungalows; the luxury bungalows are ideal for families, while the super luxury bungalows are generously spaced out, providing ultimate privacy in this little paradise. The rooms themselves are bright and airy, with chic wood and wicker accents and direct access to the outdoors through sliding glass doors. All afford sensational ocean views from their spacious private terraces, which are complete with outdoor seating and fringed with oversized palm trees. If you value being within walking distance of bars, restaurants and entertainment, Fazenda Sao Francisco may not be for you. However, the hotel's remote location on 15 kilometers of sublime white-sand beach is one of its biggest perks, allowing guests to be swallowed up by the absolute natural beauty of the surroundings and to savor the outdoors through a mix of lazy beach time, bike rides along the shore, scuba diving among spectacular coral, and kayak rides up the Corumbau River. The farm is accessed via helicopter, single-motor plane or pick-up truck from Porto Seguro; the flight to a nearby airstrip takes about 20 minutes or the journey by land takes 3.5 hours, with the last 55 kilometers or so on unpaved road. Fazenda Sao Francisco's manicured property features a gorgeous outdoor pool, just steps from the ocean, encircled by comfortable lounge chairs. There is also private beach access from the hotel and exclusive shaded beach seating for guest use. The on-site gourmet restaurant incorporates local ingredients from its own organic vegetable garden and freshly fished seafood from Corumbau into three wholesome meals per day.
