Yucatan Adventure – Authentic adventure

The Yucatan Peninsula extends northwards from Central America and is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico on the west and north, Guatemala in the south, and the Caribbean Sea on the north and east. The Yucatan offers a fascinating blend of ancient civilizations and spectacular nature. The restored ruins of the once flourishing Mayan civilization consistently surpass even the most seasoned travelers’ expectations. Abundant wildlife, dense jungles, towering waterfalls, crystalline underground rivers and pools, and of course, the translucent, turquoise Caribbean Sea make this magical region of Mexico a must see destination.

Present day residents of the Yucatan have not forgotten their traditions and their culture still shines in their markets, handicrafts, and traditional celebrations. There is never a dull day in the Yucatan and opportunities for the active traveler are abundant: scuba-diving the worlds second longest barrier reef surrounded by the clear and warm Caribbean Sea; snorkeling through underground caverns and rivers beneath the dense jungles; hiking magical waterfalls to unbelievable ancient ruins; strolling the fine white sands of the Mexican Caribbean; and climbing the towering pyramids of the Mayan past are only a few of the possibilities. Of course there is no shortage of hammocks to laze away an afternoon or two. Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula has something for everyone.

The Yucatan Adventure always begins and ends in Cancun on the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula in the extreme south of Mexico. This gateway city is easily accessed both nationally and internationally with a wide array of direct and connecting flights from most international originating cities.

This trip takes in 3 different areas of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is ideal for active travelers who want to combine archeological sites and colonial cities, with outdoors adventure, relaxing beaches and visits to local villages and colonial towns.
