Marvels of Peru
The mystical country of Peru stretches from the northwestern coast of South America, over the spine of the Andes and into the dense tropical jungle of the Amazon Basin. From its eternal coastal deserts to the highest navigable lake in the world, Peru’s landscapes are as diverse as they are spectacular. Similarly, its rich and ancient cultural heritage, with great civilizations stretching far back in time, make for a fascinating journey. Peru may be synonymous with Inca remains and Spanish colonialism, but much of its mystique derives from the legacy of those who made Peru their home long before.
Upon arrival of your overnight flight, you will be privately escorted to Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca empire and considered the oldest continuously inhabited city of the Western Hemisphere. You will stay in the legendary Monasterio Hotel, a monastery that was originally built in 1592 by the descendants of the Spanish Conquistadors.
Cuzco was the capital of the Inca Empire and displays a beautiful fusion of Spanish and Incan architecture. Visit villages, markets and ruins in the Sacred Valley, and, of course, the highlight of your trip will be the ruins of Machu Picchu, reached via a train journey through cloud forest. Spend two days exploring Machu Pichcu in company with your private guide, before returning to Cuzco to explore the city.
