For those short on time, and interested in combining culture and relaxation, this is an ideal Yucatan private travel tour itinerary. Travel throughout Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, to Maya ruins, colonial cities and villages, and end the trip with time relaxing on the pristine beaches of the Mexican Riviera.

Begin your trip in Cancun, where you’ll be transferred to the stunning Chichen Itza ruins. There you’ll explore imposing pyramids set in lush jungle. After a day’s exploration, you’ll beat the afternoon heat with a refreshing swim at a cenote, or freshwater sinkhole, before continuing on to Merida. The colonial capital city of the region. Merida is a beautiful city with lovely architecture and a lively nightlife.

From Merida, visit the elegant Uxmal ruins, and the Loltun Cavern, where mammoth bones and evidence of human use dating back 7,000 years has been discovered. You’ll enjoy a pibil (earth-cooked) traditional meal, and meet a Maya family on this exciting day on the Yucatan.

Finally, end your trip on the Riviera Maya, where you’ll have time to relax on the beach. You’ll also have a day trip to the S’ian Kaan Reserve, one of Mexico’s largest protected areas and home to diverse wildlife.

This 10-day Central Mexico itinerary takes you along to markets, mining villages, volcanoes and parks, with the trip ending on the Pacific Coast for beach relaxation.

Begin in Morelia, a city with wide avenues, parks and pink-stone carefully restored colonial-era buildings. Outside Morelia is Uruapan, with historical churches and cathedrals, and artwork from Michoacan artists can be seen throughout the city. You’ll also have the chance to visit National Park Eduardo Ruiz, the only national park in Mexico, through which runs the crystal-clear Cupatizio River. After these visits head to the Paricutin Volcano, which buried a village in 1943; you can still see the church spire emerging from the lava field.

Continue to Patzcuaro, home to amazing artisans, colonial architecture, and a charming central plaza. Set in the rolling valleys of Michoacan, Patzcuaro is the perfect destination to shop for handicrafts, explore the city and enjoy fine Mexican cuisine. Santa Clara del Cobre is a copper mining town, where copper handicrafts are created by multi-generational families – you can visit the workshops behind the shops.

Finally, end your trip on the Pacific Coast, at the Tides Zihuatanejo, where you’ll have access to a private beach and full luxury amenities.

Of course this is only a sample. We excel at creating custom travel plans. If this type of itinerary interests you, contact us today to learn more.
