Begin your trip in Panama City, before heading to the town of Bambito, in the foothills of the Baru Volcano. Here you’ll walk a portion of the Quetzal trail with a naturalist guide in search of these elusive colorful birds.

The following day you’ll have an adrenaline-filled adventure of white-water rafting on the Chiriqui Viejo River. During the dry season from December-May you’ll have a picnic partway through the trip near a waterfall; in the wet season you’ll have an exciting ride on Class III and IV rapids. The next day, zip-line through the jungle canopy, before heading back to Panama City, and being transferred to Sierra Llorona Lodge.

Set in the jungle, the Sierra Llorona Lodge is a great base for jungle explorations. After two nights, visit Embera Village on your way back to Panama City. In Panama City you’ll have the chance to kayak on the legendary Panama Canal, taking tributaries into the jungle to ruins inhabited by howler and white-faced monkeys.
