Itinerary

Day1

day01-anakonda-cruises-boat-latinexcursions-372x372 Amazon Cruise - Anakonda

Day1

Quito / Coca / Napo River

Depart Quito on a short 30-minute flight to the frontier town of El Coca (Francisco de Orellana) and transfer to the dock, where you embark a motorized canoe and navigate down river for an hour to board the Anakonda.

Following a safety evacuation drill, your journey will be underway. Settle into your suite and acquaint yourself with the vessel’s spacious social areas and observation deck.

A local naturalist guide boards the Anakonda to share an introductory presentation about the Ecuadorian Amazon. Following this talk, enjoy dinner beneath a mesmerizing sunset. An evening walk is organized after sunset, giving you an opportunity to discover the forest’s nocturnal activity while listening to the incessant sounds of nature.

Day2

Panacocha’s Biological Corridor

Continuing downstream to the Pañayacu River Delta, take a canoe trip up river to explore this reserve.

Upon reaching the Pañacocha Lake (Piranha Lake, in native language Quechua) marvel at the unique creatures that inhabit this area: squirrel monkeys and, of course, the infamous Piranhas. Pañacocha’s Lake ecosystem offers the perfect habitat for the Piranha, as well as water monkey fish and the White Caiman. After a refreshing swim (for the courageous!), enjoy a delicious Amazon-style BBQ and refreshing beverages at a nearby campsite. This afternoon, head out for a trail walk before returning onboard for dinner.

This evening, listen to a briefing delivered by your local guides, who are always happy to answer questions and provide thorough explanations and stories.

Day3

Sani Warmi / Yasuni National Park

After breakfast on board, weather permitting, you witness natural phenomenon as we set out to visit one of the most amazing spectacle located on this side of the western Amazonia, known as Parrot Clay Licks. These unique pools of mud are rich in minerals and attract hundreds of parrots, parakeets and amazon birds every day.

Later, visit the Sani Warmi Kichwa Interpretation Center where a group of Kichwa women speak about their customs, cuisine and daily life. These women developed this center to showcase and share their culture, giving visitors a window into Amazonian life along the Napo River. Handmade crafts, local products and souvenirs are available for purchase.

Enjoy lunch on board as the boat navigates to Puerto Pedro. Weather permitting, you can take a short excursion to the Yakukawsay Kichwa Interpretation Centre.

Prior to sunset, visit the Añangu Tower for some outstanding photographic and bird watching opportunities.

Your trip into Ecuadorian Amazon ends here as you begin your trip back to Itaya. Enjoy a farewell cocktail with the staff to celebrate your last night in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
