Arrive Lima, Peru / Lima City Tour

Welcome to Peru!

Upon arrival, your guide greets and privately transfers you to your hotel in the San Isidro neighborhood of Lima.

One of the Lima’s loveliest lodging options, Second Home Lima lives up to its name. This century old, Tudor style house is perched on a cliff and surrounded by sweeping gardens and the magnificent sculptures of artist Victor Delfin. Rooms are cosy and charming, with hardwood floors, high ceilings and, in some cases, built into the cliffside with majestic ocean views.

In the afternoon, enjoy a private guided Lima city tour to see the capital’s main historical highlights and destinations.

Privately transfer to Lima airport this morning for your nonstop flight to Cusco.

At dawn you will fly to Cusco, a breathtaking Andean City and former capital of the Inca Empire. A short drive away and tucked under the tawny skirts of formidable foothills, lies the beautiful Río Urubamba Valley, known as El Valle Sagrado (The Sacred Valley), home of attractive colonial towns and isolated weaving villages. Along the way, visit the local market and Pisac Archaeological Site, a place of sprawling views, temples, terraces and a collection of Inca tombs.

A memorable lunch at the exclusive Hacienda Huayoccari, full of homemade Peruvian specialties crafted from ingredients grown on the property’s farm, will satisfy and tantalize the taste buds for all the culinary delights still to come. Following lunch, enjoy horseback riding through the countryside.

After lunch, settle in to Sol y Luna Lodge and Spa, a luxurious property that runs wild with whimsy and folk art. French-Swiss owned, the lodge charms you in a playful atmosphere that graces the rooms with carved wooden beds, freestanding tubs and dainty rod-iron chandeliers. Avant-garde circus productions with former Cirque de Soleil artists provide evening entertainment.

Exploring the Sacred Valley

Spend a full day discovering the Sacred Valley of the Incas with your private guide: Start with a Stand Up Paddle excursion at the Piuray Lagoon, followed by a picnic lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the Maras Salt Flats, which rest on the precipices of the Andes and have been excavated for many centuries. Then enjoy a privately guided hike (approx. 2 hours) from Maras into the Sacred Valley, followed by short (15-min) drive back to your hotel.

Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu by Train

Private transfer to Ollantaytambo train station (about 20 min) for your journey to Machu Picchu.

The panoramic windows of the Vistadome train carry you through magnificent landscapes, ample with photographic opportunities, to the base of Machu Picchu. After lunch, enjoy a bus ride up the winding mountain for a privately guided tour of the Machu Picchu citadel. One of the seven wonders of the world, the “Lost City of the Incas” is true a marvel, magnificently perched at 2,430 meters / 7,972 feet above sea level. A buffet lunch is included at the Sanctuary Lodge, with some time at leisure to explore the ruins further on your own.

Dinner is also included tonight at your lodging, the stunning eco-lodge Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel which boasts rustic, elegant stone bungalows with exposed beams and cathedral ceilings set in a mini tropical cloud forest. A land of hummingbirds and orchids, bird watching and twilight nature hikes make for popular excursions.

Exploring Machu Picchu

This is your second day at Machu Picchu citadel with your private guide, including entrances and permits to hike up Machu Picchu Mountain for spectacular views of Machu Picchu from above.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Aguas Calientes, and then spend the afternoon at leisure as you wish. Some programmed activities at Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel are included in your room rate. Dinner is included at your hotel this evening.

Machu Picchu to Cusco via Ollantaytambo

Your guide escorts you to Aguas Calientes train station for your train back to Ollantaytambo.

Upon arrival, take your private transfer to your hotel in Cusco. Then visit Cusco’s traditional San Pedro Market, the Inka Museum and the Archbishop Art Collection with your private guide.

Casa San Blas is located just a block away from Cuesta San Blas, the “staircase” street leading up from Plaza de Armas, and could not be more central for sightseeing. Colonial-style furniture, handmade textiles, hardwood floors and wood-beamed ceilings create a cosy atmosphere in this small hotel known for exceptional service. Upon arrival at Baltra, a representative of Galapagos Safari Camp receives all luggage not being taken to Isabela to safely store until your return.

Upon arrival, our representative greets you and privately transfers you to your hotel. The afternoon is yours to spend at your leisure, perhaps relaxing on the beach or walking to the Isabela Breeding Center.

Today, enjoy a private guided excursion to the Sierra Negra Volcano, which has the second largest caldera in the world and to Volcano Chico, which is currently active. Return to your hotel around 2:00PM and then spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Los Tuneles

Start your day with a dinghy ride and snorkeling at Los Tuneles (shared), a marine paradise for the white-tipped reef sharks, manta rays, parrot fish, yellowtail surgeonfish, Galápagos green sea turtle and the Galápagos sea lion.

Return to Puerto Villamil around 2:00pm and enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Isabela Island to Baltra Flight / Santa Cruz Island Tour / Galapagos Safari Camp

Flight: Isabela Island to Baltra

Private transfer to airport for inter-island flight to Baltra, which departs at 8:00 AM (approx. 30 min flight).

Upon arrival, a representative from Galapagos Safari Camp greets you to begin your 5D/4N shared program. Cross the narrow Itabaca Channel to Santa Cruz Island accompanied by a bilingual naturalist guide who escorts you to a farm in the highlands for a tasty lunch.

Your guide gives you a complete tour of the area, exploring various vegetation zones and microclimates, walking around pit craters, through lava tunnels and getting acquainted with endemic Scalesia and Guayabillo forests. At the Tortoise Reserve, observe the emblematic giant tortoises in their natural habitat and the abundant bird life of the highlands. Your tour ends at Galapagos Safari Camp where you can enjoy a sunset cocktail and dinner.

Cerro Mesa Reserve / Garrapatero Beach

Land excursion: At 490m above sea level, Cerro Mesa Reserve offers spectacular views of the largest crater on Santa Cruz Island, exotic plants, and seven unique subspecies of finch and the elusive vermilion flycatcher.

After lunch explore Garrapatero Beach, with stunning contrasts of mangroves, black lava, white sand, and turquoise water – including a flamingo lagoon. Kayaking and mountain biking are optional.

Boat Excursions aboard Altamar: South Plazas Island

An early breakfast prepares you for today´s boat excursion. Drive 30 minutes towards the Itabaca Channel to embark the Altamar day yacht and navigate for 40 minutes to South Plazas Island. South Plazas and North Plazas islands were formed from uplifted seabed, giving them a tilted tabletop quality.

After some exploration, lunch and snorkeling, head back to the Safari Camp. Expect to return at Galapagos Safari Camp between 4:00-5:00pm.

Boat Excursions aboard Altamar: Bartolome Island

Early morning finds you driving for 30 minutes to embark the Altamar day yacht. You then navigate to Bartolome Island, this will take approximately 2 hours. Bartolome offers one of the most emblematic sceneries of the Galapagos Islands, it is one of the smallest in the archipelago, with two very different visitor sites. Explore the island, have lunch on board and have the opportunity to snorkel or swim. Return to Galapagos Safari Camp in the early evening before dinner.

Baltra to Quito Flight /

This morning, enjoy the serenity that Galapagos Safari Camp has to offer. Relax, walk or enjoy the sunrise from the observatory. Then take your transfer to Baltra airport for your flight back to the Ecuadorian mainland.
